The Art of Beauty Hair Institute is a private cosmetology school that's geared to rekindling dreams. Tasha previous owner of Mahogany Hair Salon, and current owner of Seven Hair Studio, has been a shop owner for 20-plus years. Seven Hair Studio's specialties are Malaysian Weave, natural hair, and extensions. Salon owner/Stylist/Instructor, Tasha delivers diversity for all cultures. The multicultural salon gives the client the look they want while still keeping their hair healthy. The natural ability to design and maintain hair has been a passion of Tasha's from a very young age. She has been creating styles for her school friends and grandmother's church friends since she was 8. Tasha stated 'It just stuck with me ever since. "That's all I ever did, cut hair, color hair....always hair!" Tasha attended Hicks Beauty Academy for her cosmetology training and from there worked as the first female at Kappatal Kuts Brambleton, with the best barbers in the area at that time! The barber skills she gives to them. Later Tasha continued her education in the field of cosmetology when she attended and graduated from Miracle Beauty in Virginia Beach obtaining her instructor's license. As owner and Director of Education of "Art of Beauty Hair Institute", Tasha stated," My school is for the people who have the passion and desire to become a licensed cosmetologist, but can't do full day hours." It's made to be convenient, flexible hours. Tasha said with full empathy in her tone, "Most people feel like because they've had children, life has thrown them a few curve balls, that they have to give up on their dreams. I don’t want them to give up. I had to take my son to work with me when I started my first

salon. " Her genuine emotion flowed as she spoke of her inspiration for opening her hair school. A lot of young ladies can do hair very, very well, but they have kids so they do it out of their home. They don't have time to go to school, or they maxed out financial aid, or can't qualify for a grant or loan. With times being as they are, I will give a scholarship every year in the amount of $15,000 to give back to my community and pay it forward for the blessings i have received thought the years. The course averages 1500 hours and $15,000 includes books,kit and tuition. If they pay out of pocket I discount the course to $3,000. I offer paying as you go, with payment arrangements they can afford.
